Practical Instrument Electronics (aka PIE Calibrators), founded in 2001, is a manufacturer of precision handheld electronic calibration equipment. Experienced employees from Altek Industries, including the Director of R&D, where the original founders and continue to manage the company. PIE currently has 18 employees and occupies a foot print of 10,000 square feet in Webster NY where all design, manufacturing and servicing functions are performed. We also maintain a small sales office in Houston, Texas.PIE Calibrators are used to verify the accuracy of and for the adjustment of process control equipment. This equipment is essential to the proper measurement and control of continuous and batch processes in a wide variety of industries including oil & gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, utilities, metal processing, automotive manufacturing, pulp & paper and food processing. Standard signals measured are temperatures, pressures, frequency, flow rates, etc.. Control signals such as 4 to 20 milliamps and 1 to 5 Volts DC are also measured and simulated by PIE calibrators. While there are a handful of other companies around the world manufacturing similar devices, PIE Calibrators have many unique and patented troubleshooting features which make them popular with instrument technicians. These allow work to be performed faster, more accurately and efficiently, resulting in a reduction of costs and less downtime.PIE calibrators are also the smallest and most simple to use on the market, attractive features to those working in difficult environments with many other complicated instruments. Calibrators are tools that need to be accurate, repeatable and robust - PIE strives to be the leader in all these areas. Innovative features include our EZ-DIAL, EZ-CHECK switch, diagnostic features such as LoopScope and our patented current leak detection.PIE Calibrators are made in the USA, come with a standard 3 year warranty and a NIST traceable calibration certificate.
